Sara is so thankful to be part of the Theaterra team! She was a founding member and resident actor of DreamRider Productions for over 23 years before launching this new non-profit, Theaterra – theatre for the planet.
Sara is an educator, singer, choreographer, actor, voiceover artist, director, writer, multimedia creator and visual artist who has been inspiring and unlocking creative potential with groups and individuals in Canada, the United States, India and the UK for over 20 years. She has worked with people of all ages and backgrounds, marginalized and vulnerable populations, and people with disabilities and is dedicated to helping all voices be heard. Her creative approach centres on the unique qualities of each client, providing techniques and tools to amplify their strengths while expanding their range as a performer.
For the last 2 decades, Sara has been performing and living on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and Semiahma (Semiahmoo) people. She graduated from the Studio 58 professional actor training program in the spring of 2000 and has since been working professionally as an actor on repeat contracts. Her credits include productions with: Shameless Hussy Productions, DreamRider Productions, The Only Animal, The City of Surrey, Azure Studios, The Kot Collective and Fort Steele Heritage Town.
Sara has a passion for historic theatre, musical theatre, theatre for young audiences, writing, animal rescue, and environmental advocacy. When she is not working, creating, or volunteering for the GirlGuides of Canada, VRRA (rabbit rescue) or STaRS therapeutic riding program, Sara is happily married to her loving husband Ian, and is a doting Mom to 2 teenage kids and a bonus daughter.
